3 Simple Steps To Propel Your Future Forward

2/28/2016

1. RESPONSIBILITY

Know that everything you have in your life is because of you. It is what you have chosen for your life - not your parents or environment. Your choices, decisions, thoughts and actions are controlled by none other than YOU! Sure there are certain things you are wired for, but you also have the power to rewire yourself.
The first part of taking responsibility is having a conversation with your self (you know - that self talk). What do you want to have that you don't yet possess? What kind of freedom and lifestyle do you envision? When you ask yourself these questions, don't fight what immediately pops into your mind. Don't put the blame on your childhood, parents, lack of money, etc.
While I never want to minimize the trials and challenges you may have gone through, you do have the power to overcome those obstacles. Many people have gone through tough times only to come out stronger and better.
2. KEEP A DAILY LOG
Log every activity, including as many thoughts and emotions as you can capture. Many times these are hidden and come and go without conscious thought. Most of us are creatures of habit, and every single day you relive the same patterns - unless you take responsibility to change them.
Let's look at prospecting as an example of a regular pattern. Maybe you have set aside Monday evening form 7-8 to call people on your list. What thoughts and emotions comes to mind every time you think about this activity? Once you become aware of your present, that is the first step to start changing those negative thought patterns.
Logging your activity may be fairly simple, but logging your reason, emotions and thoughts can be a bit more complex. Once you start doing this on a regular basis, you will see certain patterns that rule your day. Then you can change these patterns, as they will make or break your future.

3. CHANGE YOUR ACTIONS
Begin acting as the person you want to become. Once you take ownership of your thoughts and patterns, it becomes easier to act "as if". Who do you want to become? How do you want to contribute? If you were this person, where would your thoughts and actions take you in your business?
Successful people do not all of a sudden wake up one day and realize their success has been dropped into their lap from the sky. It happens as a process completing consistent daily action. Getting a handle on these 3 simple steps is the closest thing I know to a crystal ball that will propel your future forward.
